What is Fortnite’s Age Rating?

According to the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), Fortnite is Rated T for Teens. For every game with that rating, it’s recommended that the persons playing the game be at least age 13 or older. European players are rated Fortnite PEGI 12 by Pan European Game Information (PEGI). This means that Fortnite’s content can be played by players between the ages 13 and 18. These agencies are independent ratings bodies and not government agencies, so they’re similar to American Motion Picture Association (MPA).

To participate in Fortnite’s official tournaments, you must be at least 13 years of age. To participate in Fortnite tournaments, you must have a permit issued by your legal guardian or parent until you turn 17.

Fortnite’s vibrant colors and vivid graphics do not mean it should be played by young people. Fortnite is a popular game and you will see players younger than your Age Rating. Although this may be true, the aforementioned agencies concluded that the content was appropriate for players between the ages 13 and 12.
