Fortnite: How to Tame a Boar

You’d already be familiar with the basics of how to control a Board if you read our article How to Tame Wolves in Fortnite. You need to get the item, then throw it at the Boar. Because Boars need a different item from Wolves, and not everyone is familiarized with the game mechanic, we feel that a little more detail is required.

Step 1: Get a fruit or vegetable

This is the main difference between taming Boars and Wolf in Fortnite. You must first distract the Boar by giving them a fruit or vegetable. These can be found in produce boxes on the map, or you can collect them after cutting down corn stalks at farms. The Orchard is the best place to pick fruits and vegetables. Once you have one, it is time to move on.

Step Two: Make a Boar Docile

To tame a Boar, you’ll need to locate one. They can be found randomly throughout the map. They can be found on farms almost every time, especially at the southern end of Colossal Crops. Once you have found one, add it to your active inventory and throw it at the Boar.

Step 3: Tame it!

The time you have to do this is very limited as a Boar can attack you immediately after it has ceased being distracted by the object. The Boar will slowly approach the object on the ground, and it will emit a blue glow to signal that it is distracted. To tame the animal, quickly approach it. If you do it right, it will emit heart particles and a white arrow at its head. This will indicate that you now own a pet Boar.
