How to Get Smooth Basalt in Minecraft

How to Get Smooth Basalt in Minecraft

Smooth basalt can be obtained via amethyst gedes. This is because the geodes will contain an outer layer of smooth basalt.

You can find an amethyst geode by looking underground at Y=70 and in the vicinity of bedrock. The geodes can also be found spawning on the overworld occasionally, both underwater and in beaches.

Smooth basalt can be made from regular basalt. This is possible in the nether Soul Sand Valley biome. Basalt will naturally grow as pillars in this biome. Basalt Delta is the next place you will find basalt, since the biome’s entirety is made of block.

Once you find basalt you can mine it using any type of pickaxe. Then you can use it to make smooth basalt by placing it in a furnace and heating it.

If the player places the regular basalt into a stone cutter, they can also make polished Basalt. You can also make a stonecutter with three stone blocks, one iron ingot and one stone block if you don’t already have one.
