How to find Lush Caves in Minecraft

Lush Caves can be found in Minecraft since the release 1.18. These new caves are full of content from versions 1.17 and 1.18. They include new ore, hanging plant growth, and more. They are sought out by some players for their aesthetic value and to establish a base in the underground biome.

The main objective of finding a Lush cave is to find temperate forest biomes like Birch Forests or Dark Forests. Azalea Trees are found in these three surface biomes. Although these trees do not spawn in all three biomes, they are most common in those biomes. Below is an example of what an Azalea tree looks like.

The Azalea tree is a sign that there’s a Lush Cave beneath. You can find it by going within a few blocks from the tree and digging straight down. Most of the time this will lead to the Lush cave a few dozen blocks below. Rarely will you need to mine further to enter the Lush Cave.

Lush Caves can be found randomly because they generate randomly. Temperate biomes are the only ones that support Azalea trees. So if there is a lot sand or snow around, find another area.
