Roblox’s spacial chat is now available to anyone over 13 who has completed their age verification process. Voice chat, which was initially developed in beta form in February 2021, has slowly been released to users over the course of the last few months. The final product is available in Nov. 2021. You can learn more about Roblox’s spacial conversation by reading the following.
Verifying your age
Roblox’s user base is almost entirely made up of 13-year-olds. It has been a problem to ensure that younger Roblox users are safe. You can find out more at http://www.roblox.com/. blog post, Roblox stated that the spatial voice feature will only be accessible to those who have verified that they are over the age of 13. Roblox believes that this protects the more vulnerable users of the platform from potentially inappropriate content and experiences not suitable for younger audiences.
For more information, please visit verify your ageRoblox requires you to have the Roblox app installed. You will need access to your phone’s camera in order for Roblox to work. Roblox will take a picture of your driver’s license, passport or ID card and scan it for authentication purposes. Users will then be asked to take a selfie to prove their “liveness” or “likeness” after the scan is completed.
Due to their static nature, photos from a camera roll won’t be accepted. Be ready to rock your face! Roblox uses “liveness”, which is a way to make sure you are a real person. The whole photoshoot should only take a few moments.
Enabling voice chat
After verifying your age, you can toggle voice chat on or off from the settings menu. On PC, locate the gear icon in upper right-hand corner. Next, click Settings. Locate the Privacy tab in the menu at the left.
Mobile: Locate and click the circle with three dots at the bottom left hand corner. Scroll down until you find the cog icon. Once you have found it, click it and click Privacy. You can open both your privacy options for mobile and PC by clicking on this tab.
Look under the heading Beta Features to see the text Enable speech chat and a button. Clicking this button will toggle voice chat on—when done the button will turn from gray to green. At the moment, there doesn’t appear to be a way to toggle voice chat from an Xbox—so you’ll need to have access to the Roblox app or website in order to turn it on or off.
Voice chat rules
At this time, no official announcement has been made regarding the rules of voice chat. Currently, swearing receives no form of punishment or censoring by Roblox—this will more than likely change, however, as the kinks continue to be worked out.
Where can you use voice chat
It doesn’t matter if you find it unfortunate or not, Roblox will not feature voice chat compatibility in every experience. It is up to each game developer to decide whether or not to allow voice chat. You can find a game that allows voice chat. Mic UpThis seems to be the current favourite.
