How to enable 120 FPS in Fortnite on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S

FPS plays an important role in Fortnite’s competitive battle royale game. Cross-platform enabled, many PlayStation 5/X/S and Xbox Series X/S were always at a disadvantage compared to PC players because they were limited at 60FPS. Fortnite V 20.40 now allows both Xbox Series X/S (PS5 and X/S) to run 120 FPS. Your in-game graphics settings can be used to enable 120 FPS.

How to activate 120 FPS mode in PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S/X

PlayStation 5

Follow the following steps to enable 120 FPS in PlayStation 5.

  • Open Fortnite on your mobile device. Go to the Fortnite game settings. Within Fortnite, select the video settings section under the main settings tab.
  • Click on the 120 FPS Mode option from the list and enable it.
  • Make sure you press the Apply button before leaving the settings page.

Xbox Series S/X

Follow these steps to run Fortnite at 120 FPS using Xbox console devices.

  • Go to the General settings and choose the TV & Display options.
  • Under the TV & Display section, change the refresh rate of your TV to 120 Hz.

  • Navigate to the video settings tab in the game. Navigate and enable the 120 FPS Mode under the settings.
  • Make sure you press the Apply button before leaving the settings page.

You won’t find the 120 FPS enabled option in any video settings if you TV or AV receiver do not support 120Hz.
