Fortnite: How to Crouch
Either you have switched from one type to another (e.g., PC to Console), or you simply came here because of one of these reasons. You may have switched from PC to Console or your layout has changed since you last played. We’re going to cover all the ways to crouch in Fortnite on every platform!
Console Platforms (PlayStation 2, Switch, Switch)
Current Standard
The most recent control scheme for consoles has you toggle crouching by pressing down on the right control stick. In most games, this forces your player to sprint, but in Fortnite, it applies the opposite. This toggles regardless of whether you are crouched. To return to the standing position, you will need to press it again.
Version/Builder PRO
You can either switch to the Quick Builder controller system or the older scheme. This option is popular with creative builders. You will notice a different crouch button if you choose one of these. Instead of pressing the right control stick, you’ll have to press the left bumper (L1 on the PS4/PS5). This will toggle the crouch state. You can also press the button to stand up.
PC
The control scheme for the computer’s keyboard is quite different. Crouching is easy. To toggle between crouching and standing, simply press the Left Ctrl key. This is applicable to both the standard control scheme as well as the old school. In the image above, you can see the key’s position on the keyboard.
Now you know how to crouch. Stay hidden!
