How to build and use a Beacon in Minecraft

Minecraft beacons are useful items that offer status effects. These buffs include Speed. Haste. Resistance. Jump Boost. And Strength. Beacons can be used to travel around the settlement you’ve built. This is where you spend most of the time. These status buffs are more effective the larger your pyramid is.

It is not easy to set up and use a Beacon in Minecraft. This guide will teach you how to make a beacon in Minecraft and how to use it.

What You Will Need

These materials are necessary to craft the Beacon.

Notice: These materials are only for the purpose of building and using the beacon. They do not contain any other materials, like weapons or food, for a Nether Portal.

These materials are required to use the beacon:

  • 9x, 34x, 83x, or 85x Iron, Diamonds, Gold or Emerald Blocks
  • Notice: This amount will vary depending on the size Pyramid Tier that you are building (see below). These 4 types of blocks are cosmetic.

How to make a Beacon in Minecraft

Access to the internet is required in order to build a beacon. 5x Glass,3x Obsidian And 1x Nether. For glass crafting, gather 5x blocks sandPlace it in a furnace 1x Coal All of the sand is covered by this.

ObsidianYou can find it in the Overworld at random broken Nether portals. You can also find it underground in areas where water naturally mixes lava. If you don’t have obsidian, but still want to make it, locate a spot that has lava and collect. 3x Lava Buckets. Find a body of water, then pour the lava on three separate lava blocks. This will make Obsidian. Obsidian can be only mined using a Diamond Pickaxe.

Finally, you must be able to 1x Nether star Only spawning is required to obtain this item. beating the Wither,A boss mob. This is the most difficult part of building beacons. Make sure you take your time in preparing to defeat this boss. 

Once you have collected all the materials, you can begin to build your Beacon. You can build a Beacon using Minecraft by placing the Nether Star in middle slotPlace the Crafting Table. Place the 3x Obsidian on the bottom row of Crafting Table Place the 5x Glass The remaining 5 slots of Crafting Table. See the picture.

How to use a Beacon in Minecraft

Now that you’ve built your Beacon, find a suitable spot to place it. However, don’t expect it to work just yet. If you do, it won’t do anything. To use a Beacon in Minecraft, you’ve gotta perform some extra steps. You should still see the screen above if the Beacon’s in use. This screen shows you how to change the status effects.

The Beacon must be placed on top of an Iron Block Pyramid Pyramid, Gold Block Pyramid Pyramid, Emerald Block Pyradmid Pyramid, or Diamond Block Pyramid in order to activate it. It doesn’t matter what type of block you choose, it will have no effect on the status effects that are received. This is purely cosmetic. 

The higher the pyramid, you’ll receive more status effects. Each Tier unlocks a status effect. The Regeneration buff and one status effect can be activated simultaneously. The radius of the status buffs will increase if you raise your Pyramid Tier.

The Pyramid Tiers can be described as follows:

9-Block Pyramid, Tier 1

  • 9-Block Pyramid (3 x 3)
  • Status Effects: Speed, Haste

32-Block Pyramid, Tier 2

  • 34-Block Pyramid (5 x 5, 3 x 3)
  • Status Effects: Jump Boost, Resistance

83-Block Pyramid (Tier 3).

  • 83-Block Pyramid (7 x 7, 5 x 5, 3 x 3)
  • Status Effects on Strength

You can activate your Status buffs by placing an Ingot in the blank space. Next, choose the buffs you want and then click the green checkmark. You have successfully used the Beacon and your status buffs will be activated.
