Fortnite Stretched Resolution & Screen Guide – Nvidia & AMD

The Fortnite Stretched Resolution Guide will show you how to increase your resolution for Nvidia or AMD graphics cards. It will also explain how this is being used by streamers and pros, as well explain the differences between regular resolution and it.

Fortnite’s growing popularity of stretching your res is a sign that Fortnite is becoming more competitive. This was a very popular feature in CS:GO and is now becoming more competitive in Fortnite. Players like Myth are trying it out.

Update: Stretched Resolution won’t be available to competitive players, according to this. news update!

What are the advantages of playing on a stretched resolution?

The obvious question here is: Why would you want Fortnite to be your resolution? These are the perks:

  • Characters look larger and more stretched, making them easier for you to hit. This could help you improve your aim.
  • FPS is increased. This can improve your frame rate if you’re running on a low-powered computer.

Optional Resolutions

These are the options if you’re unsure about which size to choose. You will get more FPS the lower you go. This will, however, make the game appear worse and make it harder to play. Most people will keep the height the same, but change the width. If you have a 1920×1080 screen, you could go either 1440×1080, or 600×1080. You can try them all to find the one that works for you.

  • 1024×768
  • 1280×960
  • 1280×1024
  • 1440×1080
  • 600 x 1080

Stretching Your Resolution

Before you can start, make sure your Fortnite game is FULLSCREEN. If this isn’t done, it won’t work. So double-check your Fortnite game and then start the rest of this guide.

Fortnite:

  • To bring up Run, press Windows Key + R. Windows 10 users can simply type the next section without having to do anything.
  • Enter %localappdata% in the search box and hit Enter.
  • Find the FortniteGame folder, and click on it.
  • Click on the Saved folder.
  • Click on the Config folder.
  • Click on WindowsClient to open it.
  • Click on the GameUserSettings.ini File.

The following options can be modified in this file.

ResolutionSizeX=1920 ResolutionSizeY=1080 LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=1920 LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=1080

These can be changed to the resolution you wish to use. Myth is using 1440×1080. If you have a 1920×1080 screen, this is the best resolution for you. X is the width, and Y the height.
