Fortnite Performance Mode Coming to PC

Fortnite Performance Mode Coming to PC

You have recently played Fortnite and felt that it doesn’t feel the same as it used? It feels slow, and that something is wrong. Epic Games will launch a new performance mode in the next game update, which will be available for all PC users starting December 15th.

The performance mode can be selected through the ingame settings menu. This will result in a lower quality game but will increase the load on the GPU/CPU. This setting is ideal for gamers with less power and who want to enjoy the game at a faster frame rate. As this update is still in beta, Performance mode won’t work with Battle Royale nor Creative modes at launch.

The Video Options and Advanced Graphics will both have a setting called Performance Mode. Rendering Mode is a setting that you can change to Performance (Alpha).

This mode also includes high-resolution texture support. This option is optional. If you don’t have enough HDD space, or are using performance mode, we recommend avoiding using the new textures. The textures are worth the price for high-end users with high-end rigs. They take up 14.48GB of space.

These instructions will help you enable/disable high-resolution files.

  • Open the Epic Games Launcher
  • Go to Library
  • Click on the three dots to the right of Fortnite. Then click Options.

  • Check or uncheck the box next to 14.48GB. The high-resolution textures will now be downloaded if you check it. It’s not possible to download high-resolution textures if it isn’t checked.
  • Next, click Apply.

This is quite a significant increase, we must say. For those who have difficulty running the game at high frames, this performance mode will be perfect. You don’t need to activate this mode if your rig is already very heavy.
