Fortnite Mushroom man showing up randomly in game!

Fortnite is becoming a little more scary. Fortnitemares has just been released. It turns Shadows into Shadows and increases the fog machine’s power to 11. You might have seen a strange looking Mushroom-like figure in the mists as you navigate through this fog. Is there something more to this mysterious creature? Some clues have been found in the files which might hint at the possible new addition to this game.

This model is based on the long-time leak skin, called Madcap. This item has been stored in our files for a while, but we have not released it into the shop.

It’s an interesting looking skin so it’s not surprising that it’s not yet released. It’s doubtful that this outfit will ever be released. Mobile gamers have sometimes been able to see the outline of the skin in-game. It just stands there and is completely black. It does not move, nor make any noises. This suggests that it is a bug. Check out the video to see how it looks.

This has been going on for some time, but some new information has emerged that suggests that the model will make some noises when it is discovered.

This quest/challenge uses the Madcap Model.

These sounds sound very creepy so it is likely they are related to the Fortnitemares event. Another NPC similar to this has also leaked, this is a Snowman NPCIt will appear that this feature will be available in the game to allow you to complete quests. Epic could have invented this new mechanic. According to some text strings from the Snowman, you may be able interacted with them in-game to get some type of quest/challenge. This could be a very interesting addition that will change the way the game plays. As you dodge other players, you may find yourself looking to complete these quests for loot or XP.

These could be just a past project that Epic is working on. Unfortunately, not much official information is available at this time. We’ll have to wait to see what happens with the NPCs.
