Fastest Elevators in Minecraft

Fastest Elevators in Minecraft

One of the most important features in advanced Minecraft builds is the ability to use elevators. In a game that requires you to dig huge mine shafts and build large structures, it is essential that you can move quickly up and down. But if an elevator isn’t fast, then what’s the point?

That’s why we’ve listed some of the fastest elevator designs in Minecraft. What’s more, the use of Redstone in these designs is incredibly minimal, making them simple to make!

Why no Redstone elevators?

Redstone elevators can be slow. This is due to game ticks. There are 20 ticks in Minecraft every second. Redstone functions are performed during ticks.

It’s usually only possible for a block to move a single space per tick using Redstone contraptions. Redstone elevators are limited to moving 20 blocks per second. These constraints are ignored by water elevators, slime bounce designs and physics-based lifts. That’s because you can fall, be launched, and fly faster than 20 blocks a second.

The fastest way to create an elevator is using Soul Sand, Kelp and Water. By immersing Soul Sand into water, you can create a bubble column which shoots any entity in the bubble stream upwards.

Simply head up to the top and drop the water into the elevator shaft. Then, head back down to the bottom. Continue to plant Kelp, then return to the base. Break the Kelp to turn the water source blocks into water source blocks. To create an up or down elevator, place either a Magma or Soul Sand block at the bottom.

Slime Bounce Elevators & Drop Shafts

Gravity and Physics are faster than any mechanical design in Minecraft. The best way to get between two points is by using Slime blocks. You can also use Slime blocks to reduce damage.

You can drop from any height, land on a Slime Block and not suffer any injuries. Just make sure you don’t press the crouch button! That will cause the Slime block to not function, and you’ll take full damage.

To propel yourself up, you can use pistons and push slime blocks. Slime won’t adhere to Obsidian so that you can use Obsidian Blocks as a frame. Because the bounce is small, multiple pistons can be triggered by Observers as you ascend.

TNT Cannons

The use of TNT cannons is one of the most dangerous and fastest ways to propel yourself. The damaging aspect of the TNT can be almost entirely mitigated using water, but it’s still hazardous. Therefore, it’s best to pack a suit of Blast Protection Armor when using this method.
